ICMB Directors

Bill Long, District X

Bill and his wife, Barb, have raised their four sons and now six grandchildren on a corn and soybean farm in the central Illinois area of Franklin. They have lived on the same farm since 1977, the year they were married. Bill worked in the retail fertilizer industry upon graduating from Lincoln Land Community College with an Associates Degree in Ag Business Management.

Bill started farming in 1980 and still lives and operates the farm where he began.  Bill practices conservation tillage on his farms and believes in maintaining as much as possible in the natural care of the land he operates.

Bill's other passions are trying to educate and inform others to the benefits of agriculture and the all around effect it has on all of us. "I want to expand my knowledge and understanding of corn production in Illinois and how farmers effect not only America but other parts of the world. I want to be able to bring information to the public to better inform and educate others to the benefits of corn as a natural resource"

Bill will use his time on the ICMB to help educate others by expanding his scope of information and to continue to be involved with the continuing growth of the corn industry and farming in general for now and future generations.
