CORN'S ECONOMIC IMPACT IN ILLINOIS

Corn’s a big deal in Illinois, but you don’t need us to tell you that. But it is one thing that the Illinois Corn Growers Association is proud to share with influential people, especially those in Washington, DC. Check out this list of facts about the economic impact of corn in Illinois.

All data is based on 2011 numbers, and is sourced from the National Agricultural statistics service, the Illinois Institute for Rural Affairs, IMPLAN.

  • $25 billion in output (value of goods and services)
  • Nearly 175,000 jobs
  • $6.4 billion in employment compensation/proprietor income
  • $10.9 billion in GDP
