May 2 – CARTOONIST SAYS A MOUTHFUL: Leave it to a guy that draws cartoons for a living to finally cut to the quick of the food price issue. The link to the cartoon below ran in the Wisconsin State Journal. The initial email I received noted it ran in the WSJ…slang in the trade for the Wall Street Journal. We should be so lucky. However, small steps count.

INDUSTRY EXPERTS TELL FARMERS SIDE OF FOOD ISSUE IN D.C. -NATIONAL Corn Growers Association CEO Rick Tolman participated with Renewable Fuels Association, National Farmers Union and former secretary of Ag John Block at a food and fuel news conference this week that received good media pick-up. This was widely picked up by NCB affiliates, CNN and others.  NCGA VP of Public Policy Jon Doggett was also interviewed by the Christian Science Monitor regarding the food and fuel debate.  All told, representatives of NCGA, Illinois Corn Growers Association, Renewable Fuels Association, and the Ethanol Promotion and Information Council conducted dozens of interviews trying to set the record straight.
