Ellen graduated from Iowa State University (ISU) in May of 2012 and married her favorite farmer in June of 2017. While at ISU, she majored in Agronomy with an emphasis on Seed Science Technology. She was raised on a cattle and grain farm in Northern Illinois.

Currently she sells Channel corn, soybeans and alfalfa to an extensive list of customers throughout Northwestern Illinois. She also works for Conagra under the Birds Eye Foods brand procuring green beans and carrots. Her husband and her farm, corn, soybeans, alfalfa and raise cattle.

They also have a custom cover crop business, where they grow and sell an extensive list of cover crop and grass seed.

They represented the Illinois Farm Bureau's Young Farmers and Ranchers, as their 2018 Young Leader Achievement Award Finalists. She is also the Salem Township Supervisor.
