Mark Wilson, Secretary
Mark Wilson was raised on a grain and livestock farm near Toulon, Illinois. He graduated from Toulon High School in 1980, he continued his education at Iowa State University and graduated in 1984. There, he became a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity.
Mark then worked the next four years for the Farm Progress Show and served as Show Manager. He returned to the farm in 1988. He worked with his father until he retired in 1999. On the farm, he raises corn and soybeans. He also raises 6,000 head of hogs from wean to finish, and bottle feeds and raises 16 steers for freezer beef per year. Plus, he also has 25 layer hens and raises over 100 broiler chickens annually. In addition to, they just started a honey bee hive. His sons are also raising and selling some white, yellow, and red popcorn as a small enterprise.
Every year Mark and his family have hosted elementary school classes from Peoria and Stark County through the Ag in the Classroom Program. They believe it is very important to help educate others about farm life and where their food supply comes from.
Mark has been involved with the Stark County Pork Producers and Stark County Farm Bureau. He is currently serving as President for the Toulon Public Library District and is active on the Elmira Mutual Insurance Board and Walk on Water Ministry Board. Mark is also very active at the Toulon United Methodist Church. He serves as the Ad Council Chairman, he is a Men’s Ministry leader and a Local Lay Speaker.
Mark married his wife, Cristin, in 1988 and they have three children.
