GRASSROOTS POLICY PREPS FOR CORN CONGRESS

Feb 29, 2012  |  Today's News

Illinois corn farmers are talking grassroots policy issues again today, preparing for Corn Congress at the Commodity Classic.

Twice a year, corn farmers from around the country gather to develop and amend grassroots policy as brought forth from county and state corn growers associations. Today, corn farmers from Illinois reviewed the National Corn Growers Association policy book and proposed policy changes. On the to-do list was "cleaning up" the national policy book to be sure that our advocates in Washington, DC, are armed with relevant policy.

Commodity Classic has attracted more than 5,000 farmers from around the country this year. It is hosted by the American Soybean Association, National Corn Growers Association, National Association of Wheat Growers, and the National Sorghum Producers.
