Just two weeks ago, more than 1100 visitors to the Farm Progress Show faxed their Congressman directly from the IL Corn exhibit urging them to pass a “farm bill now!” The USDA hopes you’re following up on social media by using the #MyFarmBill hashtag. IL Corn hopes you will, as well.

If you’re a user of social media, this is perfect for you. Whether you’re on facebook, twitter, or Instagram, you’re encouraged to use the #MyFarmBill hashtag to tell a short story about what the Farm Bill means to you. USDA has specifically encouraged 15 seconds videos be posted to Instagram.

Here are some examples:

Congress passing the farm bill not only provides guidance 4 me, but ensures the next generation will be able 2 continue farming. #myfarmbill

Why is the #farmbill important to YOU? #MyFarmBill will help me and my future in the agriculture industry

@pamjohnsoncorn: Passing #myfarmbill needed for food, farms, families and American jobs.”
