‘A crack of the bat, a bite of DaBurger’ will be the most common motto used on July 23rd when the Illinois Pork Producer Association (IPPA) partners up with the Illinois Corn Marketing Board at the Normal Cornbelters baseball game in Normal. In Illinois, the pork industry is the largest livestock consumer of corn.

IPPA will be handing out pork samples to fans and educating kids and adults about pork production. The most famous pork burger called DaBurger will be sold at this game and at the concession stands for the entire baseball season.

“The Illinois Pork Producers partner with the Illinois Corn Marketing Board on a number of events throughout the year. A fan favorite for four years is the “Salute to Pork Night” at the Cornbelters game,” said Erin Clearly, IPPA Director of Marketing and Education. “Samples of delicious pork burgers are grilled on site and handed out to fans as well as recipes and a coupon to purchase the delicious pork burger sold at the Kernel’s Kitchen inside the Cornbelters stadium. Pork and corn partner on this event to highlight the great connection of Illinois corn and pig farmers.”

Illinois Pork Producers have teamed up with Illinois corn and soybean farmers to provide pork to food banks throughout Illinois. Since 2008, they have provided more than 1.5 million servings of pork to those in need. Fans can help by making a $10 donation to the Pork Power food bank program at the game and receive an “I’d Wrap That in Bacon” t-shirt available in the concourse!
