SYNGENTA CORN SEED SETTLEMENT NOTICE POSTED

Corn farmers across the nation, check your mailboxes. You may have received a notice concerning the $1.51 billion settlement of a class action lawsuit against Syngenta related to the sale and marketing of its Agrisure Viptera and Duracade corn seeds. This is a legal, court-authorized notice that should be taken seriously.

If you meet one of the following criteria, your legal rights are impacted, and you are eligible to participate in the settlement:

1.  Corn Producer: Any Corn Producer in the U.S. with an interest in U.S. corn priced for sale between September 15, 2013, and April 10, 2018 (including certain landlords);

2. Grain Handling Facility: Any Grain Handling Facility in the U.S. with an interest in U.S. corn priced for sale between September 15, 2013, and April 10, 2018; or

3. Ethanol Production Facility: Any Ethanol Production Facility in the United States with an interest in U.S. corn, including DDGs, priced for sale between September 15, 2013, and April 10, 2018.

Those who are eligible to participate have four options according to the notice:

To get a payment, submit a Claim Form by October 12, 2018. You can submit a Claim Form quickly and easily online at www.ComSeedSettlement.com. If you can't access the internet, you can call 1-833-567-CORN (1-833-567-2676) to ask for a paper copy Claim Form.

Object

Tell the Court you don’t want the settlement to be approved and why.

Exclude Yourself

Ask not to be a part of the settlement: you will receive no money but keep the right to sue Syngenta separately.

Do Nothing

Lose your claims against Syngenta but get no payment.

 

If you decided to take any action, be aware that you do NOT need a lawyer or anyone working on your behalf. You have the right and ability to act for FREE to you. Individuals may contact you asking to represent you or file these actions for a fee on your behalf. You do NOT have to accept their help to take action in this settlement. However, the notice stresses that you must submit a claim to get paid.”
