American Ethanol is back this year as an official partner of NASCAR, sponsoring all three series of exciting races from the opening weekend in Daytona to the season’s conclusion in Miami. Through NASCAR, corn farmers have worked to improve the image of ethanol amongst the sport’s millions of fans. In just the first two seasons, the basic fan’s understanding of ethanol has improved so that a majority of fans now support using ethanol in their own cars.

With the U.S. ethanol industry crashed head-on into the 10% blend wall, it’s more important than ever to find enhanced markets for ethanol. The American Ethanol work with NASCAR works to do just that, building a base of support among fans as possible consumers for E-15 and higher blends where available.

The American Ethanol Green Flag will be waved at the start of each race and each in-race restart, serving as the official signal of full-speed racing. This year, Motor Racing Network, the official radio partner NASCAR, will refer to the green flag as “The American Ethanol Green Flag.” MRN is broadcast throughout the country; find the nearest affiliate on the MRN website.

The American Ethanol brand will also be featured on Fox and SPEED broadcasts. You may have noticed the American Ethanol in-car camera broadcasting live during the Daytona 500 from the inside of Tony Stewart's No. 14 Chevrolet!

All season long American Ethanol will present the American Ethanol Green Flag Restart award to the Sprint Cup driver with the fastest restart times; the overall winner will be presented with the American Ethanol Green Flag trophy at the end of the season awards banquet in Las Vegas. Jimmie Johnson is the reigning champion.
