When hearing that the U.S. House of Representatives passed the U.S. Mexico Canada Agreement (USMCA) for trade, Illinois Corn Growers Association President Bill Leigh, a farmer from Minonk, made the following statement:

“Mexico and Canada are our largest markets for corn, ethanol, dried distillers grains with soluables, and many meat and dairy products which is why Illinois farmers have worked tirelessly for a year to advocate for USMCA passage.  ICGA is thrilled to see the USMCA take another step toward ratification today with a positive vote in the House.  Illinois is a state that relies very heavily on trade markets, so not only is this a significant win for Illinois corn farmers, it’s a win for our entire state.  We’d like to thank the members of the Illinois delegation that voted in favor of this landmark trade agreement between our very reliable neighbors.”
