We’re still looking for social media interns for the Spring 2017 semester! The deadline is this THURSDAY, December 1! Make sure you’ve applied!

Are you a college student? Whether you are an aspiring social media influencer or an online agvocate, the Illinois Corn Marketing Board has something for you. No ag experience necessary! The Illinois Corn Marketing Board is currently accepting internship applications for the Spring 2017 semester. This is part of our effort to provide meaningful agricultural experience to college students and to encourage investment in the industry while using the creativity and ingenuity of college students to boost the image of the Illinois farmer.

Applications for Spring 2017 social media internships can be found at http://www.ilcorn.org/education/higher-education. Applications are due December 1st. Interviews will be held in Bloomington, IL December 5-8, 2016.

Social media interns with the Illinois Corn Marketing Board are encouraged to promote agriculture via various social media outlets. Each intern receives a platform (e.g. Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat or Instagram) to generate or sustain a fan base by contributing content that promotes the work of corn farmers and the image of agriculture.

Social media interns are compensated for their semester of work, but the experience should also be viewed as an online portfolio to be included on a resume or during a job interview.  Interns can expect to learn more about their designated social media platform, as well as to learn techniques for building readership and interactions with fans/followers.
