If you’re interested in learning more about soil health and the impact it could have on your farm profitability, if you’re interested in understanding cover crops and other practices that could make a difference for you, if you’re interested in talking to other farmers about their experiences and understanding how cost shares to implement these practices could work, then you can’t afford to miss this upcoming field day.

On November 1, from 8:30 to 3:30, join us for a Cover Crop field day in Altamont, IL.  Hear from Barry Fisher, USDA-NRCS Central Team Leader/Soil Health Specialist about how your soils can benefit from cover crops.  Listen to a panel of farmers explain the successes and failures they’ve had with cover crops.  Understand more about the Soil Health Partnership in Illinois and how they can help you on your farm.

And then end the day with a tour of K.F. Farms in Mason, IL to walk a cover crop field and soil pit.

The timing is perfect.  Your field work will be finished, and you can begin thinking about your 2019 crop year.  If you’ve missed other field days this summer, you can’t afford to miss this one!

RSVP by October 25 to Jennifer Woodyard at 217-347-7773.
