Last week, leadership from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and leadership from IL Corn and American Commercial Barge visited LaGrange Lock and Dam.  The dam was built in the 1930s for 50 years of use but is still being forced to hobble along today.

On their Facebook page, the Waterways Council Inc said, “It’s amazing the lock is still operable given its condition.”

Luckily, Assistant Secretary of the Army Corps of Engineers RD James was able to see the state of the lock first hand.  Lockmaster Bill Cross pointed out conditions along the lock throughout the tour.  We’d like to bring you along to see for yourself.
