Ten Senators from seven states sent a letter to OMB Director Mick Mulvaney requesting immediate attention to Mississippi & Illinois River lock modernization and ecosystem restoration in the FY18 Corps workplan and FY19 Budget.

Our special thanks to Senators Tammy Duckworth and Dick Durbin for signing this letter and signaling their support for the effort to upgrade our locks and dams.

Within the letter, the Senators acknowledge Congressional support for the projects in 2007 and state that with appropriate funding, many projects could be beginning construction within a year, “immediately improving the economy and environment, and affirm[ing] the importance of the program.”
