FAMILY FARMERS TAKE CENTER STAGE

Jul 13, 2011  |  Today's News

In addition to the work on Corn Farmers Coalition, Common Ground, and other imaging efforts at the national level, the Illinois Corn Marketing Board is involved with other farm groups in Illinois in an effort dubbed Illinois Farm Families.

You can find out more at http://www.watchusgrow.org The participating groups are the Illinois Beef Association, Illinois Corn Marketing Board, Illinois Farm Bureau, Illinois Pork Producers Association, and Illinois Soybean Association.

If you talk to friend and neighbors about your farm and what you do, you should remember that over 98% of the people in this country have no practical experience or knowledge of what you do. That means you need to talk about it differently than you always have, engaging in a conversation rather than just an education.

We are farmers responsible for growing safe, nutritious, healthy food for our families and yours.  We represent thousands of individual farmers throughout the state who are committed to providing wholesome, quality food you can feel good about.  We know consumers have questions about how your food is grown – and we’re reaching out to answer those questions.  We’re proud of what we do, and we’re opening our doors to show you what really happens on today’s farms.

To help drive awareness of the watchusgrow.org website, we’ve partners with the Farmers Feed Us program to give away free groceries for a year. Visit www.farmersfeedus.org and choose Illinois from the drop down menu of states. You’ll see from there how non-farmers can find out more about what you do while they’re entering the sweepstakes.
