As the U.S. House of Representatives is expected to take up the 2012 Farm Bill in the near term, it’s more important than ever that we broaden the coalition of people that support farmers and rural America. Through the Illinois corn checkoff, we’re working to enhance the trust and strengthen the relationships between farmers (row crop and livestock) and the non-farming public. One avenue is through the website, www.WatchUsGrow.org, a place where consumers, elected officials, and other influential people can meet real farmers and see what really happens on Illinois farms.

WatchUsGrow.org is the internet home of Illinois Farm Families, funded in part by the Illinois Corn Checkoff. This is a great example of the ag groups working together for a common purpose. Other partners in Illinois Farm Families are the Illinois Beef Association, the Illinois Farm Bureau, Illinois Pork Producers Association, and the Illinois soybean checkoff.
