The Illinois Agri-Women are excited to present the 5th annual Women Changing the Face of Agriculture event at John Wood Community College in Quincy, IL on March 7!

The event is an investment in the future of the agriculture industry, helping to connect young women with professional women already in the industry.  All female high school or college students pursuing a future in agriculture will have an opportunity to network with professional women in various careers like ag communications, ag engineering, food science, ag sales and marketing, veterinary science, and more.

Students can expect to gain knowledge of internships, career advice, and preparation for a long career in the agriculture industry. The morning sessions will include visiting industry booths to learn more about opportunities in the agriculture industry. After lunch, students can attend breakout sessions of their choice to learn more about topics in agriculture they find most interesting.

Statistically, females are underrepresented in careers focused on science, technology, engineering and math.  Because agriculture encompasses each of these areas of study, encouraging women to engage in the agriculture industry is a platform to encourage female growth in these areas.
