With 2 percent of Illinois’ corn crop in the ground as of this last weekend, folks are wondering how fast things will progress. A Champaign, IL, based company has some great information available that could help make the projections. That company, Agrible, was started by a group of ag engineers who started with a seed of an idea to give farmers a range of new tools by harnessing the power of big data. As the idea grew, so did their team. They are now ag engineers, farmers, data scientists, engineers, agronomists, atmospheric scientists, programmers, and designers. Their expertise covers a range of disciplines, but their mission is the same - to make precise data easily available, so farmers across the globe can increase their productivity and yields. In a partnership with IL Corn, Agrible is bringing special opportunities to you as a members of the Illinois Corn Growers Association. One of their free services that may interest you is their weekly weather report video.

The weekly video is released each Monday and covers Illinois and nationwide weather considerations. You can find the week’s video at https://www.morningfarmreport.com/weeklyweather or by clicking on the image below.

Agrible's latest weekly video suggests that dryer and warmer weather is on its way for Illinois, just in time to boost that planting progress number up from 2 percent and into the range of the 5-year average.
