Through a grant program administered by the IL Farm Bureau, the Illinois Corn Marketing Board, using corn checkoff dollars, supports County Farm Bureau education programs. A good portion of County Farm Bureaus in the state are able to take advantage of the grant opportunity. The grants are awarded to local programs that meet eligibility guidelines supporting the goals of the Illinois corn checkoff.

For example, the McLean County Farm Bureau provided $1,130 to Midwest Food Bank to purchase meat for our neighbors in need. The program was educational as well as philanthropic in nature, teaching folks about the partnership between corn farmer and livestock farmers. Matching funds were provided, in part, by the grant from Illinois Corn Marketing Board.
