Illinois Corn encourages its members and leaders to vote in the tomorrow’s elections at the local, state, and federal level. We believe in encouraging political engagement at the voting booth, as well as at other times as appropriate by phoning, emailing, or visiting your elected officials in person.

The primary will decide November’s Democratic and Republican nominees for state offices including governor and attorney general. It will also set the candidates for all 18 of Illinois’s congressmen in the U.S. House. State House and Senate races are also on the ballot.

If you are registered to vote, the polls are open to you from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.  If you don’t already know, you can locate your polling place here.

Certainly, the candidates for governor will be interesting races, but other races to watch for our state are District 4 where incumbent Congressman Luis Gutierrez has said that he will not seek re-election in November.  And in the 3rd District, the very conservative Democrat Dan Lipinski is being challenged by a more mainstream Democrat with endorsements from Reps Schakowsky and Gutierrez.

Election time is always an exciting time!  Don’t forget to exercise your right to vote!
