How IL Corn Marketing Board Positions Farmers to Grow

The IL Corn Marketing Board (ICMB), established in 1982, manages the voluntary corn checkoff investment made by IL Corn farmers. Elected farmer leaders serve unpaid three-year terms, using checkoff funds to grow demand, create markets, and promote understanding of IL Corn top agricultural commodity—corn.

  • ICMB administers a 7/8-cent checkoff per bushel of corn sold, funding research, education, and promotion to protect farmer profitability by expanding markets, improving prices, and reducing costs.
  • Checkoff dollars also support organizations like the U.S. Grains Council, U.S. Meat Export Federation, and National Corn Growers Association, which develop markets and drive innovation, as well as IL Corn Farm Families, sharing the story of America’s safe, abundant food supply.
