What's your strategy?

Nutrient loss is an important issue when considering the best management practices of a farm. There is an inherent need to stop events like erosion that wipe out the nutrient composition of the soil. Cover crops have the potential to reduce nutrient loss.

IL Corn, along with the Zea Mays Foundation, is encouraging farmers to use best management practices on their farms that will reduce nitrate loss by 15% by 2025 and reduce phosphate loss by 25% by 2025. To help support this goal, IL Corn Growers Association is working with several partners to provide programs and incentives to try best management practices like cover crops including a seed coupon for members and reduced cost opportunity.
