Ethanol production creates valuable livestock feed as a byproduct. The sugars and starches in corn used to produce ethanol provide a rich energy source for animal diets. From just one bushel of corn, you get approximately 2.9 gallons of denatured fuel ethanol and 15.1 pounds of nutrient-dense distillers grains. These distillers grains are commonly used in the diets of beef and dairy cattle, swine, and poultry.
