IL CORN GROWERS ASSOCIATION 2025 ANNUAL REPORT
ADVOCACY IN ACTION
LETTER FROM THE ICGA PRESIDENT
MARK BUNSELMEYER
Fellow Illinois corn farmer members,
There’s no sugarcoating it—this has been another tough year. Volatile markets, high input costs, and soft corn prices have put real pressure on every farm family in our state. I feel it on my own farm, and I know you feel it on yours.
But I want you to know this: your ICGA leadership and staff are working to protect your bottom line and fight for the future of Illinois agriculture.
In the past year, we have:
- Testified in Washington, D.C. to ensure farmer perspectives are at the center of national conversations on trade, biofuels, conservation, and farm programs.
- Lobbied in Springfield to safeguard your ability to operate freely and responsibly, pushing back against policies that threaten your productivity or independence.
- Engaged directly with federal agencies and lawmakers, providing real-world farm data and advocating for practical, farmer-focused solutions.
- Worked alongside commodity partners nationwide to grow domestic ethanol demand, promote better and more equitable farm policy, and strengthen support for critical trade agreements.
- Amplified your voice in the media and across the industry so policymakers understand the consequences of inaction—and the importance of a strong Farm Bill.

Even in a challenging financial climate, we are not slowing down. Advocacy has become even more critical.
Every meeting, every hearing, every conversation we have in D.C. or Springfield is driven by one goal: to make sure you can stay profitable, independent, and competitive—now and for the next generation.
I’m proud of the work we’ve accomplished this year, but more importantly, I’m proud to represent the farm families who make Illinois agriculture what it is. Your resilience inspires everything we do.
Thank you for your continued trust in ICGA. We are in this together, and we will continue fighting for you every single day.
Sincerely,
