IL Corn Advocates on the Hill
By Lyndi Allen • September 17, 2026
As Illinois corn farmers head into harvest facing a challenging farm economy, IL Corn took their concerns directly to Washington, D.C. IL Corn met with members of Congress and both Illinois senators to discuss policies that can strengthen demand, lower costs, and expand opportunities for Illinois corn farmers.
As part of the National Corn Growers Association’s (NCGA) advocacy efforts, IL corn joined corn farmers from across the country in meetings with congressional offices. Conversations focused on issues directly affecting farmers, including higher ethanol blends, passage of E15 within a bipartisan Farm Bill, lowering of input costs, and strong export markets.
As harvest begins, IL Corn will continue to bring farmer priorities to policymakers by advocating for policies that support a strong future for agriculture.
