Planning Your Farm’s Future: A Virtual Series on Succession

January 9, 2025

Farm Family Resource Initiative

The future of American farming is undergoing a significant transition. With more than 70% of farmland expected to change hands in the next 15 to 20 years, planning for succession is more important than ever. Whether you’re planning to continue farming for several years, step back, or find a balance somewhere in between, creating a plan is essential for your family, your farm, and future generations.

To help farm families navigate this vital process, the Farm Family Resource Initiative is hosting a Farm Succession Virtual Series this February. These online discussions are designed to guide farmers and their families through the key steps of developing a succession plan, fostering productive communication, and preparing for changing roles on the farm.
