IL Corn Marketing Board Elects New Officers for 2026–2027

By Tara Desmond August 19, 2026

The IL Corn Marketing Board (ICMB) has elected a new slate of officers who will help lead the organization’s efforts to invest Illinois corn checkoff dollars in programs that grow demand, create new markets and strengthen understanding of Illinois corn farmers and the industry.

Elected by their fellow farmer directors, the new ICMB officers are Matt Raben as Chair, Terry Smith as Vice Chair, Dan Meyer as Treasurer, and John Klemm as Secretary.

These farmer leaders bring experience from across Illinois agriculture and will work alongside fellow ICMB directors to strategically invest corn checkoff dollars in research, market development, education, promotion and other efforts that benefit Illinois corn farmers.

The ICMB was established in 1982 to manage the voluntary checkoff investment that Illinois corn farmers agreed to implement that year. The board is made up of Illinois corn farmers who are elected by their peers to serve unpaid, three-year terms.

Through their leadership, ICMB directors help ensure Illinois corn checkoff investments are focused on opportunities that can build demand for corn, develop new markets and provide value to the farmers who contribute to the program.
