IL Corn Marketing Board (ICMB) Director Jon Rosenstiel has been elected Secretary-Treasurer of the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC) during the organization's 66th Annual Board of Delegates Meeting last Friday.

Rosenstiel, who farms in Illinois and serves on the IL Corn Marketing Board, will help provide leadership for the international trade organization as it works to develop global markets for U.S. corn, ethanol, distillers grains and other grain products.

"Illinois farmers depend on strong international partnerships, and it's an honor to serve in this leadership role with the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council," Rosenstiel said. "I look forward to working alongside fellow farmer leaders and industry partners to continue building relationships, expanding market opportunities and ensuring customers around the world recognize the quality, reliability and sustainability of U.S. grain and bio-based products."

Trade remains vital to Illinois agriculture, with nearly half of the state's corn crop reaching customers outside of Illinois through domestic and international markets. Through its work in more than 70 countries, USGBC helps create and strengthen demand for U.S. grain and bio-based products by fostering relationships, providing technical expertise and opening new market opportunities.
