By Lyndi Allen • February 18, 2026
The Agricultural Coalition for the U.S.–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA) hosted a press conference to highlight the agreement’s importance to U.S. agriculture and rural communities as its renewal approaches. Coalition leaders and industry experts discussed a new economic analysis showing USMCA has significantly increased agricultural exports, supported hundreds of thousands of jobs, and strengthened market stability. Speakers emphasized that while the agreement has delivered major benefits, targeted improvements and timely renewal are essential to preserve market access, maintain competitiveness, and provide certainty for farmers, agribusinesses, and the broader rural economy.
Moderator Spencer Chase (Corn Refiners Association) was joined by panelists Krista Swanson (National Corn Growers Association), Shawna Morris (National Milk Producers Federation & U.S. Dairy Export Council), and Alexis Taylor (International Fresh Produce Association) to discuss the economic importance of the USMCA for rural America.
