Farming, Parodies, and Going Viral with the Peterson Farm Brothers

By Tara Desmond May 14, 2026

If you've spent any time on ag social media, you've likely seen the Peterson Farm Brothers. Brothers Greg, Nathan, and Kendall Peterson have built one of agriculture’s biggest online followings through parody videos that share real farm life with a broader audience.

In the latest episode of IL Corn TV, host Shane Gray talks with Greg Peterson about how it all began. What started as a 2012 college class project at Kansas State University exploded when their first video hit 5 million views in a week.

While the videos are funny, they also help connect non-farm audiences to agriculture. Greg writes most of the lyrics himself, drawing from real experiences on the family farm in central Kansas. One of their most popular videos, “Tractor Stuck,” resonates with anyone who has ever buried equipment in the mud.

The success of the channel has also helped grow the family operation, allowing all three brothers to return to the farm and support their families. Greg says it took years of work, speaking engagements, and eventually brand partnerships to turn the project into a sustainable business.

His advice for future ag creators: be patient, stay authentic, and focus on connecting with audiences outside of agriculture.
