ETHANOL COMPANY RECOGNIZED BY CORN GROWERS
Bloomington, IL – Marquis Energy, an ethanol production facility in Hennepin, IL represented by Mark Marquis, CEO, received the Ethanol Award from the Illinois Corn Growers Association today at its annual meeting in Normal, IL.
Marquis Energy began as a 100 million gallon per year ethanol facility in 2008. Drawing from a strong track record of growth, Marquis Energy completed its expansion in 2015, making it the largest dry-mill ethanol facility in the U.S. and the world with a production capacity of one million gallons of fuel-grade ethanol per day.
“Marquis Energy has seen tremendous success in the ethanol industry in Illinois and has been an amazing partner as ICGA seeks to improve the regulatory climate for ethanol production and use,” said Aron Carlson, President of the Illinois Corn Growers Association and Winnebago, IL farmer.
“We are so pleased to welcome Mark Marquis here today as a representative and co-founder of such an unequivocal success and to thank him for his work selling ethanol, pioneering a successful ethanol exporting program, and working with us to grow the industry,” Carlson said.
Marquis has served as a member of the board of managers of Marquis Energy since co-founding it in 2005. He also serves as Chief Executive Officer and President. In addition, Marquis co-founded Marquis Management and other affiliated Marquis entities, which serve an important role in the ethanol production process at his facilities.
Marquis also serves on the board of directors of Growth Energy, a non-profit biofuels organization, and he is the chairman of its export committee. He is also on the Illinois Renewable Fuels Association board where he has been a strong voice for Illinois ethanol in Springfield.
